Why use this tool?

It is important that the students are able to self and peer assess when working in a design team, as it enables them to see the value of working collaboratively, which this assessment tool (created by Kathryn McKelvey, Reader in Design Pedagogy at Northumbria University School of Design) encourages.

How to use this tool?

Ideally, this tool is used as part of the mid-way or final assessment as a ‘self’ and ‘peer’ assessment reflection on working in a design team. Students will be asked to carry out this exercise by themselves. Marks collated from this exercise will contribute to their final mark.
